A study by independent economic analysts, Oxford Economics, confirms that Falmouth University (Falmouth) and the University of Exeter (UoE), who share and jointly manage the Penryn Campus, have contributed £491 million to the economy of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly between 2002 and 2012.
The universities have also contributed £144 million to the UK Exchequer during this period.
From the 2nd April 2014 Falmouth Town Council will take over public toilets in Falmouth and they will revert to free to use facilities.
A new £5.5 million facility at the Penryn Campus will provide another home for the University of Exeter Business School which is expanding into Cornwall in 2015. This new facility will also provide space for the University’s existing Marine Renewables team, and growing Centre for Ecology and Conservation (CEC).
Six Apprentice Horticulturalists and two Apprentice Countryside Rangers have been recruited by CORMAC Solutions in an attempt to attract more young people into employment.
Cornwall Council and British Gas have joined in partnership to create a new
local scheme called Glow Cornwall, aiming to help people throughout Cornwall
save energy and save money on their energy bills.
