Work has begun this week on the Re-Source project at Kimberley Park Lodge.
12 July 2024: Work has begun this week on the Re-Source project at Kimberley Park Lodge.
This project will transform the Lodge into a community café and media hub, thanks to funding from Falmouth Town Council and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme, managed by Cornwall Council and funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF).
- The old, not-fit-for-purpose extension at the back of the building is being demolished and replaced. The historic lodge building will stay intact, with only the interior being renovated.
- In partnership with Sourcefm , the new space will feature two recording studios and a third flexible area for community activities like music workshops and dance rehearsals.
- People of all ages will will have opportunities to learn new skills in broadcast media and technology, engage in creative workshops, participate in performance training, and connect with mentors and peers in a supportive environment.
- The community café aims to become a local hub for creativity and connection.
Works are due to be completed by Spring 2025.
