Notice of Vacancy

Following her election as MP for Truro and Falmouth, Jayne Kirkham has resigned from Falmouth Town Council. This means a vacancy has arisen for a Falmouth Town Councillor in Penwerris Ward. Please see below for the official Notice of Vacancy from Cornwall Council.

If you live in Penwerris Ward and would like to have a by-election to fill this Councillor Vacancy, you need to request this in writing either by hand or by post from the Proper Officer at Cornwall Council by Friday 23 August 2024.

If at least 10 residents of Penwerris Ward request a by-election by 23 August, this will take place no later than 28 October 2024.

If no requests are received or the number of requests is less than 10, then Falmouth Town Council can co-opt people onto the Council.
