The gallery has an outstanding collection of over 2,700 artworks that range from Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist paintings to contemporary prints, photography and a children’s illustration archive. We also have the largest contemporary collection of automata in a public museum and regularly commission new ones.

The collections displays in the gallery change regularly to ensure our visitors always get to see something new. If you wish to see a particular artwork please contact us to avoid disappointment.
