Green Libraries Week
Falmouth Town Council will be celebrating Green Libraries Week with a number of different organisations coming together to share their messages with visitors to Falmouth Library or Falmouth Art Gallery.
Monday 7 October
RECYCLING & WASTE
9:30AM – 11.30AM:
Falmouth Town Council Officers will be on hand to talk to residents about our SandSafe campaign which aims to keep our beaches clean.
1PM – 3.30PM:
Followed by Cornwall Council’s Recycling team who can explain all about the new system for rubbish and recycling which will be introduced early in 2025 New food waste, recycling and rubbish service – Cornwall Council
Wednesday 9 October
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
9.30AM – 11.30AM:
Transition Falmouth/Fal Energy Partnerhship is hosting an interactive session showing people how to make draught excluders Energy saving tips – Draught proofing | Fal Energy Partnership for their home.
Alongside Community Energy Plus are in the know on other energy saving measures and will help to point people in the right direction to do their bit Energy advice from Community Energy Plus – Community Energy Plus (cep.org.uk)
3PM-5.30PM:
One of our Love Where You Live litter picks is taking place nearby at Prince of Wales Pier and its surrounding tidal beaches. Meet at Market Strand end of the Pier for 3pm.
Thursday 10 October
FOOD
9:30AM – 11.30AM:
Fairtrade Falmouth always put on a great spread sharing how to use the trademark to make sure you are buying ethically sound food. Find them on Facebook.
1.30PM-3.30PM:
Later in the day the Cornwall Council Active Health team will be talking about how to cook food that’s good for you and the planet
Friday 11 October

As part of their commitment to restore nature A Nature Recovery Strategy for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly | Let’s Talk Cornwall, the team will tell the stories of what is happening out there now
1.30PM-3.30PM
In the afternoon, Ocean Conservation Trust have some interactive exhibits so that people can experience seagrass Collaborative Seagrass Restoration – Ocean Conservation Trust. Information on the plans for Falmouth Bay will also be shared.
Saturday 12 October
11AM – 12:30PM:
Join the Falmouth Library team Facebook in a workshop to create an artistic impression of local wildlife.
