About Falmouth Town Council Procurement
Falmouth Town Council follows public sector procurement rules when awarding contracts.
The main requirement of the procurement policy is that all public procurement must focus on value for money. This means getting the best combination of quality and effectiveness for the lowest cost over the life of the goods or services purchased.
This should be achieved through competition, unless there are compelling reasons to the contrary.
Public sector procurement operates within a legal framework. This framework promotes free and open competition, along with value for money. It follows both international and national obligations and regulations.
As part of its strategy, the government aligns procurement policies with this legal framework, as well as with its wider policy objectives.
