Unfortunately, due to the severe weather warnings for this weekend, the Falmouth Festive Weekend has been cancelled. Safety must always come first, and while it’s disappointing, the decision has been made with everyone’s wellbeing in mind. Please read the full statement for more details, and stay safe this weekend.
It is with great regret that due to the forecast adverse weather conditions and amber alert that has been issued as Storm Darragh makes its way to Cornwall, the Falmouth Town Team and partners have made the difficult decision to cancel the Festive Weekend planned for Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of December.
Arranging and delivering a public event requires contributions from multiple organisations, to ensure the safety of all involved. After evaluating all possible alternatives, it is the safety and welfare of those attending as well as volunteers supporting, that have been the foremost considerations when making this decision.
We would like to thank all those who have freely given up time to help with event planning as well as the organisation of Falmouth’s Christmas programme. Such efforts demonstrate the strength of community spirit and passion that many people have for our special town.
We hope that people will understand and appreciate the circumstances which have led to this decision. Do stay safe over the weekend.
